WordPress turns 20

WordPress, one of the most popular content management platforms in the world, turned 20 in 2023. Since its launch in 2003, it has evolved significantly and become an indispensable tool for countless web developers worldwide.

In 2009, a friend invited me to create a blog to share music. I immediately agreed, but when he told me we would be using WordPress, I was skeptical since it was a technology I had never used before. I ignored this fact and went ahead with the blog creation. Since then, I have become attached to how easy it is to change things on WordPress.

For me, WordPress was one of the main tools that helped me become a web developer. I was able to learn and improve my development skills while creating websites for clients. Even though I don't currently use PHP or WordPress, I still keep up with the news and am happy with what it has become. It went from a simple text editor to a robust editor of various blocks that can be fitted and remixed.
